Dental Bonding in Birmingham MI
Since 1981, Dr. Sushko has handled flaws in the teeth of his patients through dental bonding.
Dental bonding is a procedure that utilizes a composite resin (tooth-colored material) to cover flaws in your teeth. A thin coating of bonding agent (dental adhesive) is applied to the surface of the tooth.
Then Dr. Sushko sculpts, colors and shapes the material to provide a realistic correction that blends in with the natural color of the teeth.
A high-intensity light hardens the composite material and the surface is finely polished. The results are beautiful, natural-looking teeth.
What can Dental Bonding do?
- Repair chipped or cracked teeth
- Improve the appearance of discolored teeth
- Close spaces between teeth
- Make teeth look longer
- Change the shape of teeth
- Protect a portion of the tooth's root that has been exposed when gums recede
Dental Bonding, Veneers or Crowns?
For some of the above situations, veneers and crowns can be better solutions for cosmetic work than dental bonding. Dental bonding is usually a less expensive solution but does not resist stains as well as crowns or porcelain veneers and is not as strong.
