Dr. John M. Sushko, DDS
Dr. Sushko has been treating patients for over 42 years and that experience has earned him a 100 percent satisfaction rating among his patients. Dr. Sushko was awarded fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, a prestigious honor reserved only for the top percentile of general dentists in the country.
Dr. Sushko knew that he wanted to become a dentist since his first visit to the dentist when he was three years old. He was born in Pennsylvania, but has lived in the Detroit area since early childhood. He graduated from Warren High School in 1973 as co-salutatorian, from the University of Detroit in 1977 summa cum laude and from the University of Detroit Dental School in 1981 at the top of his class.
Dr. Sushko founded his dental practice in 1982 and has kept up his continuing education in general dentistry, orthodontics and cosmetic dentistry.
Dr. Sushko always stays on top of the latest developments in technology in the fields of dentistry and orthodontics so that he can provide his patients with the best care available.

Gwen - Dental Hygienist
"My name is Gwen Schram and I’ve been a dental hygienist for over 35 years, with Dr. Sushko for over 25 of them. I was vice president in my hygiene class and graduated magna cum laude from Oakland Community College. Outside of the office, I enjoy working in my yard and going up north to Caseville to visit my mother."
Rita - Dental Hygienist
"My name is Rita Rzouqi and I have been a dental hygienist since 1997. Prior to hygiene, I was a dental assistant for 4 years. I have been with Dr. Sushko’s office since 2019, and I love being part of the team. I have three children, and my oldest is a 3rd year dental student. In my spare time, I love to travel, cook, and spend time with my family."
Kelly - Dental Assistant
"My name is Kelly Rae and I’m Dr. Sushko’s dental assistant. I’m 29 years old and been with him for 8 years now. I’m currently completing an associate’s degree in Business Management and I hope to run my own dental office one day. In my free time, I enjoy spending time outside, painting, traveling, and gardening."
Danielle - Operations & Finance Manager
"My name is Danielle Vanicelli and I am Dr. Sushko’s operations manager/finance manager. I joined his amazing team back in 2012. I graduated from Western Michigan University with a bachelor's degree in Finance and Economics. I run our day-to-day operations and can answer all questions regarding billing, finance, insurance, etc. Outside of the office I enjoy traveling, swimming, kayaking, and going out on the paddleboard with my beautiful daughter Bella."
Grace - Receptionist
"My name is Grace and I’m one of Dr. Sushko’s fabulously talented receptionists. I’ve been with Dr. Sushko’s office for almost a year and a half cumulatively. I have a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, and I’m currently completing a certificate program in data analytics. I can assist with most insurance, billing, and all scheduling inquiries. Outside the office, I love reading, exercising, and exploring my city."
